Westley Braswell

A Mind let go
Westley Braswell is not someone who lives in the real world. Ever since he was a young child, he has lived in a world that he has created for himself. His first words didn't even come to him until the age of five; he was too busy dreaming up his own wonders of life. As he gradually moved from one end of the spectrum to the other, his reclusion into the fantastical became a destructive habit, and he longed to find a way to live in reality. It almost drove him to burn the places he had created for himself to the ground, and himself with it. That was until a special teacher came along, and showed him a different path. Instead of forcing himself to reject what he had created, he learned how to share his fantasy with others through writing.

Westley Braswell is a writer and narrative designer. He has earned a BFA in Creative Writing from Full Sail Entertainment, where he earned two course director awards. His stories aim to blend elements of the fantasy and sci-fi genres with the biting reality of the human condition. He believes mixing the surreal and fantastical with the grounded and relatable is the heart of any fictional writing. His work often features a diverse ensemble of characters; he's got too many of them in his head to only use one at a time.
